Crashes with third-party plug-ins
There have been a number of reports of crashes with Pro Tools 19+, macOS Catalina (10.15) and RX 7, 8 when instantiated alongside specific third-party plug-ins such as:
- Sonnox: Oxford Drum Gate
- UAD: Sonnox Oxford Envolution
- GRMtools: GRM Delay, Doppler, Comb Filter, Spacegain
- Output: Thermal
To avoid these crashes, please be sure to install RX 8.5 or newer.
If you're not using any of those plug-ins and you're still seeing crashes, this likely means there's a permissions issue with the installation. It's best to re-install RX from the Admin account of your computer and try once more.
