Logic Pro X can host both AU effect plug-ins, as well as AU instrument plug-ins.
To add an iZotope effect plug-in to a track in Logic Pro, follow these steps:
- Click the "Audio FX" button in the mixer channel strip of your audio or instrument track (this is the same button you would click to add Logic's own compressor or EQ, for instance).
- In the pop-up menu, navigate to "Audio Units" and then the "iZotope" sub category.
- Select the iZotope effect you wish to add, and then select the channel format (mono/stereo) from the next sub menu. The effect will be added to your track, and the plug-in window will appear.
To add an iZotope instrument plug-in to a track in Logic Pro, follow these steps:
- Make sure you have at least one instrument track in your project. To add one, go to the Track menu and select "New Track...." Double-click "Software Instrument" to create a new instrument track.
- The instrument track's channel strip will display the name of the current instrument (such as "E-Piano"). Place your mouse over the instrument name to reveal the plug-in browser button (look for a button with small up/down arrows).
- Open the plug-in browser and navigate to "AU Instruments." You will find your iZotope instruments in the "iZotope" sub category. Select the plug-in and channel format you want to add the instrument to your track (the plug-in window will appear).
