Locating plug-ins within Ableton Live

If you're unable to find your iZotope products within Ableton Live, you can try the steps below to locate them:

1. Rescan your folder

To perform a rescan, open Ableton Preferences and head to Plug-ins (10.1 and later) or File/Folder (All versions until 10.1) and click the rescan button under "Plug-In Sources".

2. Check your folder

Windows:

If you're using VST3, enable the System folder and rescan.
If you're using a Custom Plug-in folder, browse and select that folder, then switch it on.

Mac:

If you're using Audio Units (AU), switch "Use Audio Units" on. For VST2 or VST3 Plug-in system folder, switch this on.
If using a Custom Plug-in folder, browse and select that folder, then switch it on.

3. Check your compatibility

32-bit vs 64-bit:
Ableton Live 10+ is 64-bit only and 32-bit versions of products will not appear in the browser.
Similarly, Ableton 9 and below are 32-bit only and will not display 64-bit software.

Operating System:
Check the specifications of the products you've installed and make sure your Operating System is listed as supported.

Location:

VST plug-ins may stop working when the standalone application of the plug-in gets moved, renamed or uninstalled. It's recommended to always install the VST file directly to the correct destination folder, rather than manually moving the DLL file afterwards.
To relocate a product, uninstall it, then re-install to the specified location.

If you're using RX, you can read more about setting that up, in this article.
