iZotope Labs and iZotope Assistant FAQ

What is iZotope Labs?

iZotope Labs is a dedicated sandbox where iZotope subscribers can test-drive experimental concepts and prototype tech. Designed as a low-touch, exploratory environment, Labs lets users peek behind the curtain at what our DSP and research teams are currently working on. Play around with new ideas, push their boundaries, and share direct feedback on what actually works in a real-world studio setting.

iZotope Labs is highly experimental. You may discover bugs or experience inconsistent results as these projects are still in development. We hope you’ll share your experience with us through feedback prompts in the product.

Currently, iZotope Labs is only available with an iZotope subscription membership. Other iZotope Labs experiments in the future may be open to the public in other formats, so stay tuned!

Access to specific Experiments is tied to your subscription tier (Plus or Pro) based on the products involved.

About iZotope Assistant

iZotope Assistant is a new experiment available in Tonal Balance Control 3 for iZotope Pro subscribers. As the industry’s first LLM-powered mixing and mastering assistant, it combines 25 years of iZotope DSP with an intelligent listening layer that understands your audio, providing detailed feedback on everything from tonal balance to stereo width. You can even prompt it to take action and make hands-on EQ adjustments across compatible iZotope plugins in your session. Currently available as a limited-seat release in iZotope Labs, you can opt in to claim your spot or join the waitlist.

How to Access?

iZotope Assistant is currently available to iZotope subscription trial users and members to test. To access iZotope Assistant, head to Product Portal or Native Access and download the latest build for Tonal Balance Control 3 (version 3.1). Then, open the plugin in your DAW and click the “Assistant” button in the bottom-right corner. This will open the Assistant sidepanel, where you can click “Get Early Access” to opt-into the experiment. If we’ve run out of seats by the time you sign up, you’ll be added to the waitlist, and you’ll receive an invite in your email as soon as a spot opens up.

FAQs

Are the features/tools in iZotope Labs going to be released someday?

Some of them might be released, some of them might not. This is primarily a place for our users to test things out and give us feedback.

I’m a perpetual customer, why can’t I access iZotope Labs?

iZotope Labs is currently a perk for iZotope subscribers, but you can still apply to be part of our broader beta team and test future iZotope products. If you’re interested, you can submit an application here.

I’m an iZotope Plus subscriber, why can’t I access some iZotope Labs Experiments?

Access depends on whether your tier includes the base product hosting the Experiment. iZotope Assistant, for example, is hosted in Tonal Balance Control 3, which is exclusive to iZotope Pro subscribers. You’ll be notified every time a new Experiment goes live; check back to see if you’re eligible to sign up!
