If Iris 2 is not playing audio when triggered by MIDI, then you may want to check your MIDI device or your audio hardware setup. If you are not using a MIDI device with Iris 2, then please skip to the second set of instructions below:
MIDI Device Troubleshooting
If you are not hearing audio playing back when pressing on MIDI keyboard keys or note triggers, then there may be an issue where Iris 2 is not communicating properly with your MIDI device. To fix this, please follow these steps:
1.) Close Iris
2.) Disconnect and reconnect your MIDI device.
3.) Allow a moment for your operating system to recognize this device.
4.) Load Iris 2.
Iris 2 should then be able to communicate properly with this MIDI device, and you should hear audio playback when playing a file in Iris 2 using your keyboard or MIDI device.
*Please note that the Iris 2 keyboard will turn yellow in response to notes you play on your MIDI keyboard. If the Iris 2 keys aren't turning yellow as you play, Iris may not be communicating with your MIDI keyboard properly.*
Audio Device Troubleshooting
If you are not hearing audio playback in Iris 2, and the Iris 2 keyboard keys seem to be triggering correctly, then you may need to adjust your audio hardware configuration by following these steps:
1.) Open Iris 2 and click 'Edit - Audio Hardware Setup'.
2.) Click Driver Type, and select an available driver.
3.) Click Audio Device, and select the desired audio output device.
4.) If using ASIO (Windows) or CoreAudio (OS X), make sure to click the "Channel routing..." option to select the appropriate stereo output stream on your output device.
